Services but not limited to the following:

Our team has worked in the dry dock environment for periods ranging from days to months.
In-place machining is a specialized service provided. In all cases, onsite repairs are less expensive and limit equipment down time.
Emergency Shaft Repair Preparation. The OEM had a lead time of 9 months. Our team was able to disassemble the winch components, preform repairs and reassemble the winch in 6 days.

In-place machining to reestablish true effective braking surfaces.

Shipwright Marine Services is a force in the industry in mooring equipment repairs and overhauls. Our team has the experience and tooling to accomplish any number of repairs to the deck mooring equipment. Our service can be as simple as replacing the woven brake linings or as complex as removing the winch from the foundations and replacing the mooring drum spool bushing, and more. In many cases we can provide all the components needed to prevent long downtimes waiting on materials from part providers. We invite you to read more below.
Mooring Equipment Wellness Inspections. Our inspection can identify work required for preventative maintenance or extensive repairs for upcoming dry dock.

Band brake woven lining replacement is one of our primary services, pads or bands of any size. We use American-made components and brass fasteners. Once the worn lining is removed, the inside of the brake strap is mechanically cleaned prior to applying the specialized two-part adhesive that is required.

Spring cylinder hydraulic leaks—in some cases we can make repairs on-site; if not, we offer complete overhaul service through our consortium partner. Any and all components of the cylinder can be replaced, and material long lead times are not required.

Continuous lining replacement.

This mooring winch was required to be removed from the foundation and rotated to facilitate the removal of all rotating components. The mooring spool bushings, along with all the seals, were replaced with new ones. This service can be accomplished in service or during Dry Dock Availability.
Replacement of mooring spool bushings can be accomplished in service or during dry dock availability. In some instances the bushings, bearings, and seals can be provided.

Structural Repairs by Certified Welders and Mill-Certified Materials. We provide structural welding and installation of a number of structural components. Having our own certified load cell, we pull-test any lifting point we install and provide an SWL certificate for use.
Drag plates can be replaced in service, which in most cases is preferred. A 100,000-pound anchor support fixture is put in place supporting the anchor, allowing the anchor chain to be removed. An engineer will visit the ship to template a drawing of the drag plates. The plates will be fabricated to be an exact replacement for the original.

Over time numerous hinge and tang plates wear, causing misalignment of doors and hatches. Templates and drawings of them can be obtained for the replacement of such.

On numerous occasions, lifting points are not adequate nor in place. I/H beams can be installed in line with the center line of equipment to facilitate disassembly and reassembly. Using 4- and 5-axis laser lights, the placement can be accurate.

Extensions can be added to meet the OEM-required spacing between the chain stopper roller and the Gypsy Head.

Load testing using load cells for proofing installed rails.

Guards of any shape or size can be fabricated and installed to protect vital components.

Monorail beams are designed and installed to facilitate the overhaul of installed machinery.

Accomplishing safe working load testing using calibrated load cells.

Fairlead roller upgrades are a very successful product in our line of services. The steel rollers and shafts are removed and replaced with a solid composite tube and a stainless steel shaft. This arrangement becomes a maintenance-free roller set. The natural color is a dark grey. They can be lightly painted to match the ship's scheme.

Our source for the deck fittings is all class-approved fittings. AWS-certified welding procedures are used for installation.

Composite rollers and stainless steel shafts were installed 4 years ago. This arrangement has extended the life of the mooring lines and reduced the maintenance, as this arrangement is maintenance-free.
